I’m excited to get back into the second half of my talk with Dr. Stacie Betancourt of Four Winds ADR Coaching and Counseling. Last week we went deep into the weeds of eating disorders and other traumas; and recovering from them with confidence, deep inner strength and an optimistic focus on the future. Dr. Stacie Betancourt of Four Winds ADR, Coaching and Consulting, formerly B&B Life Solutions Coaching & Consulting. She practices Divorce Arbitration, Mediation and Coaching designed specifically for the needs of individuals who are going through the process of divorce.
Through Trauma Coaching, she assists individuals in breaking the cycle of trauma that forms counterproductive habits. As a Certified Life Coach, she partners with corporations, individuals, and families to overcome deficiencies and help clients reach their full potential. She is an English Language Arts teacher and also, a longtime friend since childhood.
Our talk that covers a number of topics, including eating disorders and parenting trauma, so please be aware that there might be some triggers here. We also talk about overcoming such traumas and finding the “why” through fitness, forgiveness and self love.

This is part II of my talk with Stephen Jay Morris, cofounder of the band, Benedict Arnold & the Traitors, political commentator, music aficionado. He is a product of what is arguably one of the most tumultuous times in America. He’s also a proud, self-proclaimed Boomer with his own podcast that’s called, “The Late Boomer”. And, through all of these experiences, he’s found that life is beautiful despite its challenges.

Stephen Jay Morris is one of the most enigmatic and creative friends. This first of a two-part episode is about music, art, poetry and growing up in 1960's Hollywood--a not so classical-glitzy experience for a kid who would grow up under its influence to embrace politics and co-found a punk rock band that once opened for Black Flag. With deep musical knowledge and appreciation across genres, he later went on to critique music and introduce listeners to the magic of "new" old music discoveries.

This week my (practically) lifetime friend, Mike and I got back together again to talk about the only thing that matters in the world: rock ‘n roll! And the craziest concerts that we’ve attended. We also talk about hearing loss, both of us having exposed our ears to loud noise and suffered the consequences.
It struck me during this talk, how many venues no longer exist from our early concert days. My personal choices in who I will listen to has also changed dramatically. What I mean to say is that my music listening has broadened and become more inclusive of and open to the seemingly infinite variety of music that there is in the world.
Music… is the universal language that connects us all. Here, we share the one referred to as rock.

This is the second part of my talk with my dear friend, Tamara Madison, poet, educator, artist, free-spirit. We talk about the writing process and a lot of other things. Most special is her reading of her poem, "Sequoia Sermpervirens".
This was a short segment, so I paid tribute to my amazing neighbor and friend, Ella Jean Morgan (Bollinger), who continues to be an incredible inspiration to me and my knee recovery, over eight years after her passing.
